A beautiful Model 80 desk designed by Arne Wahl Iversen in 1961 and produced in Denmark by Vinde Møbelfabrik.
The desk is finished in richly figured rosewood, with a beautifully restrained design typical of the best Danish furniture of the period. The large rectangular writing surface is supported by two banks of drawers, providing generous storage while retaining a light and elegant appearance.
The quality of the construction is particularly good, with carefully considered proportions and detailing throughout. The warmth and strong figuring of the rosewood give the desk a wonderful presence, while the simple form allows the quality of the timber and craftsmanship to take centre stage.
The desk has been professionally repolished and is presented in excellent vintage condition. The rosewood has a rich, even finish while retaining the character expected of a piece dating from the early 1960s. There are minor signs of age and use, but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance of the piece.
A particularly handsome example of Danish mid-century design, combining beautiful materials, excellent craftsmanship and a practical form that works equally well in a private study, office or larger interior.
