WHO WE ARE
Founded in 2003, Gallery Kiy is a small, independent gallery based in West London, specialising in 20th-century design.
Our collection features furniture and objects that combine exceptional design with quality manufacture, with a particular interest in early modernism and architect-designed furniture. The gallery regularly handles works by designers and architects including Alvar Aalto, Jean-Michel Frank and Marcel Breuer, as well as less familiar designs that we believe deserve attention. We are particularly drawn to early and small-production pieces, unusual examples and objects that have acquired character through age and use. We also offer contemporary art, ceramics and other works that sit naturally within the collection.
Within the collection, we have a longstanding specialism in the furniture designed by Pierre Jeanneret, Le Corbusier and their collaborators for Chandigarh, India. We began buying Chandigarh furniture nearly nineteen years ago, long before it became widely collected internationally, and have since sold hundreds of examples.
Our experience with Chandigarh furniture has given us a detailed understanding of its provenance, construction, materials, institutional markings and the signs of age and previous restoration. We have always preferred good, honest examples retaining the character and patina acquired during their original institutional use.
Almost all of the Pierre Jeanneret furniture we have acquired over the years has come to us unrestored. This has allowed us to examine pieces in their original state before any intervention takes place and has been fundamental to our knowledge of their construction, materials and original finishes. Restoration and conservation are carried out in the UK by experienced conservators, with an emphasis on preserving original material, surface and patina wherever possible. Cane, upholstery or other elements are replaced only when necessary, and any restoration is undertaken sympathetically, respecting the age and character of the piece.
The same approach extends throughout our collection. The process of sourcing, researching, restoring and preparing an object for sale can take months. We work with specialist conservators, restorers, upholsterers and framers and do not compromise on the quality of the work.
All of our pieces are photographed in-house at our West London gallery and studio. Our photographs are intended to give an honest representation of each object rather than disguise age or condition. High-resolution photographs, detailed condition reports and video inspections are available upon request.
WHERE WE ARE
We are based in Uxbridge, West London, where our showroom, warehouse and photography studio are housed in the same building.
We warmly welcome visits by appointment, and you can view almost everything shown as available on our website in person.
SOURCING
If you like our collection and feel our eye suits yours, we are happy to source individual pieces or help build a collection.
Through a network developed over many years in the UK and internationally, we can search for specific designers, models or types of object. We can also advise on provenance, authenticity, condition and restoration, and negotiate on behalf of clients when we successfully locate a suitable piece.
TRADE BUYERS
We have worked with interior designers, architects and other trade clients for many years and value the long-standing relationships we have built within the industry. We supply individual pieces as well as larger groups of furniture for residential and commercial projects.
We are happy to assist with sourcing for specific projects and can provide additional photographs and detailed condition reports when required.
SELL TO US
We are always interested in acquiring good examples of 20th-century design, whether a single piece or an entire collection.

We can purchase directly and, in selected cases, can also offer pieces for sale on your behalf for an agreed commission.

For clients based in London with a serious interest in purchasing, we are happy to arrange for pieces to be viewed in your home before you make a final decision.
This is offered without obligation and at no additional cost, subject to the size and location of the piece.
BUYING FROM US
We accept payment by all major credit cards and bank transfer. All goods remain the property of Gallery Kiy until payment has been received in full.
We are always happy to answer questions, provide additional photographs or videos, and discuss condition, provenance and restoration before purchase.
SHIPPING
We arrange secure local, national and international shipping and regularly send furniture and objects throughout the UK, Europe and worldwide.
We work with experienced specialist carriers and can arrange everything from collection and professional packing or crating to customs documentation, delivery, unpacking and installation where required.
RETURNS
Client satisfaction is very important to us. If an item is not suitable upon delivery, we offer a full refund of the purchase price, less transport costs, provided that we are informed within 14 days of delivery.
Return transport costs are the responsibility of the buyer, and the piece must be returned to us in the same condition in which it was received.
If an item is materially different from its description or photographs, we will offer a full refund and cover the associated transport costs.
