We have for sale a very rare pair of complete side tables by Luterma for Vanesta/Isokon. The original designer is unknown but the pieces were made inhouse by Luterma, Estonia c1930. The stools were imported by Jack Pritchard for his company Isokon in 1933 and named Model No 1. In the build up to World War Two, Walter Gropius fled Germany and came and to London and stayed with Pritchard at the Lawn Road Flats, during this time he edited the stool to have sharper internal cuts, c1936. We have for sale both the original design and the Gropius edit.
The tables are in excellent vintage condition. They have all been very lightly cleaned and waxed. All plywood is intact and show no signs of historical restoration. All metal capped feet are present. The tops are original to the the bases. The colour and patina match between the tops and bases. The pairs also match very well.
As with all vintage pieces the pieces will show signs of wear and use. If there is anything that stands out or overly obvious we will clearly say. In our opinion this piece is in fantastic condition.
