Florence Knoll, one of the most influential figures in 20th-century design, created this table as part of her mission to "fill the gaps" with furniture defined by impeccable proportion, clarity, and purpose. As a key member of Knoll Associates' legendary Planning Unit, she brought a uniquely architectural approach to furniture design, and this piece is a perfect example of that philosophy in practice.

The tabletop, veneered in richly figured Brazilian rosewood, has a commanding 152 cm (approximately 60 inches) diameter. The beautifully expressive wood grain serves as the sole ornamentation — a nod to Knoll’s belief in aesthetic purity through material integrity. The generous scale makes it ideal as either a showpiece dining table, comfortably seating 6–8, or a sophisticated conference table that fosters communication and connection without a dominant head.

Supporting the top is Knoll’s signature base: a minimalist, rectilinear structure in satin chrome-plated steel. The striking contrast between the warm organic rosewood and the cool industrial chrome exemplifies high-end mid-century design at its finest.

The table is presented in very good vintage condition. The rosewood top has been professionally repolished and shows only minimal marks, dents, or dings — subtle signs of age that do not detract from its overall appearance. The chrome base has been cleaned and retains its original finish, with visible surface marks, light scratches, and minor dings that speak to its history without compromising its presence.
