A true icon of mid-century Italian design, this Model 551 lamp was created by the legendary Gino Sarfatti for Arteluce in the 1950s. With its distinctive minimalist silhouette and bold yellow enameled aluminum shade, the piece perfectly embodies Sarfatti’s forward-thinking approach to lighting — functional, sculptural, and elegantly modern.
Designed to be used as either a table or wall lamp, it features a rare original yellow finish on the shade, beautifully complemented by a patinated brass frame. The adjustable head allows for directional lighting, making it both visually striking and highly practical.
While there are surface scratches, small dents, and minor paint loss consistent with age, none of these detract from the overall character or appeal of the piece.
