An exquisite piece of Mid-Century Italian lighting design, this rare two-light floor lamp is by the renowned manufacturer Stilux Milano and dates from the late 1950s.
This lamp embodies the sophisticated elegance and modernist functionality characteristic of Italian design from the period. It features two slender, opposing arms rising from a solid, circular marble base which providing a heavy solid base and good use of materials to contrast the metal structure. The arms converge near the base and elegantly diverge to support the vibrant light shades.
The lamp is crowned with two distinctive, teardrop-shaped shades of colored glass—one in a warm, striking orange and the other in a bright yellow. These vibrant colors are a hallmark of the era and cast a beautifully diffused, ambient light, adding a pop of color and warmth to your interior.
The construction typically incorporates a black lacquered metal stem with elegant brass accents at the socket collars, showcasing Stilux's commitment to combining quality materials like metal, brass, and marble.
The lamp has been rewired and is ready for use. The marble base has oxidised in the areas connected to the metal stem and switch. The base also has some minor marks and dings to the edges. The glass shades are in perfect condition. The brass collars are heavily patinaed, the metal stem is in its original black paint and show signs of age as expected.
