This Alvar Aalto Armchair Model 36 is a timeless piece of Finnish design, created in 1933 and showcasing the elegance and innovation that made Aalto a key figure in the modernist movement. The armchair is crafted with bent laminated birch, and is upholstered in alpaca velvet. Its gently curved arms and ergonomic form offer exceptional comfort, while the minimalist design allows it to seamlessly integrate into a variety of interiors, from traditional to contemporary spaces.
This piece is a 1930s chair and retains its original PE Gane retailer label dating the chair to between 1933-38.
The piece is in very good vintage condition. The frame has age related patina, and does have small marks, dent and general signs of age but nothing that detracts. The chair has not been used since being upholstered.
